Hello, friends. It’s spring break for the kids, which means that working parents are doing two jobs while trying to create magical memories. My daughter’s memories will include such highlights as “That time mom made me play outside *and* watch the dog, even though I am only five and playing outside is illegal now” and “That time mom took me to the dentist and let me play an insipid game on her phone as long as I let her get her receding gum treatment in peace.”
Point is, if you know any working parents, be gentle with them this week. They are on their last nerves and it’s only Tuesday. If you’re a working parent, be gentle with yourself. And if you’re not a working parent and don’t know any of those people, go have a margarita, I guess? I’m trying to remember what I did before I became a mombot, and I’m coming up short. I feel like there was a lot of alcohol involved.
Anyway, I’ll see you next week. Keep the internet warm for me.
I was just being a mombot! My oldest is hitting puberty and I am watching my best kid become my worst kid. 😭
Also I am a working parent. My children are going through the rite of passage of being bored at home for days at a time. And being left alone bored at home while mom is at work and dad is going to his appointment that's an hour away.
